In lieu of our regular meeting, there will be a mini officer’s briefing at Michi’s Toy Box tomorrow starting 4:30pm. Though this meeting is for officers, any interested club members are also welcome to attend. If you are an officer and cannot make it in person, don’t worry since we can also hop on Discord to discuss things.
We will also be meeting at Ivan’s later during the month on Saturday, July 20th (RSVP, officers and regular members only), which can also function as an officer’s meeting. Stay tuned for more details.
Hey everyone! We hope you’re enjoying summer, and had a good Spring semester. We will also have meetings every week during the Summer semesters, every Friday in Kuykendall 210 from 4:30pm-7:00pm. We also usually go to grab food after (-8:30p/9:00p).
What do we do?
Since we’re an anime club, we usually watch anime every week: either shows that we select, random showings, or both. Depending on how many people are there, we may also do other stuff.
Can I game?/I’m a part of MAG (the Manoa Academy of Gaming) or a different club/I just want to hang out with friends, can I join in?
Absolutely! Feel free to join us as well. If you want to play card/board games, go ahead! If you want to game, you can do that too– in fact, if you want to plug in your setups, we can bring multi-outlets to accommodate you in the Kuykendall rooms. We can even bring a projector and stereo speaker to supplement anything you bring.
If you want to do a LAN party, marathon a certain show, or anything else, definitely join our Discord so you can chat with others and ask about it: discord.amshawaii.org
The end of the year is upon us! As such, we’ll have something fun for our last Friday meeting tomorrow: feel free to join in on a casual potluck and singing session with Vocaluxe/Ultrastar in Kuykendall 209! For those of you going to Avengers: Endgame during the day, we’ll start our thing a bit later in the evening, and go from 5:00p – 10:00p.
Check out the list below for a full catalog of the songs we’ve got:
We can also take Twitch Sings for a test run as well.
Today, we’ll be holding our Open Game Day in the iLab, from 4:30pm-7:30pm! This is a test run to see how holding our game days in there works out, but it’s pretty much exactly what we usually do. As always, feel free to bring your setups, board games, and what ever you feel like to game with us! The iLab comes with some added bonuses as well:
There are up to three TVs that you can use to plug in a console or a laptop
If you’re a part of MAG, you’ll also be able to hop on any of the six fancy gaming PCs in the room
There are plenty of tables for you to set up tabletop games!
As usual, we’ll also go and grab food after, rides permitting. Whether or not you’re a regular at AMS, you’re welcome to join in!
If you need to figure out where the iLab is, it’s the small building right in between Kuykendall and the Art Building, and between two parking lots. You can’t miss it!
Hey everyone! The Manoa Academy of Gaming (MAG) is having a Switch Day this Friday, March 8th, during which they will hold a casual tournament. Whether you are competing or not, and whether you are a part of MAG or not, you are welcome to join us!We will not be meeting in Kuykendall 209 on Friday– instead, head over to the UH Manoa iLab (Building 37). Festivities will go from 4:30pm– all the way to 11:00pm, with the specific games focused below:
If you plan to participate in any of their tournaments, click on any of the links above to get started. Again, you do not need to be a part of MAG to compete!
As usual, the PCs will also be open for use (to MAG members), and I will be bringing my laptop setup and multi-outlets for those of you who aren’t a part of MAG, but are interested in PC-gaming on your own. It’ll be a party!
Also, MAG is interested in borrowing any of the games above, controllers, and/or set ups if you don’t mind them doing so for the event. If you want to, please send them an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with the materials that you would be providing so that they can keep track of them.
We’re going to be doing things a little differently this Friday— since the Manoa Academy of Gamers (MAG) will have their first meeting that day (which goes on for longer, from 3:00p-9:00p!), there are people who are a part of both AMS and MAG, and there are some may want to attend the Punahou Carnival, we’ve decided to meet at MAG’s event instead. Idea is still the same– bring ‘yo setups– we’ll see you in the UH Manoa iLab on Friday!
The UH Manoa iLab is the small structure between Kuykendall and the Art Building, next to the Art Building’s parking lot. Also note that since this event is under MAG, any use of facilities and equipment in the iLab is to be determined by them.
Future Friday meetings are still planned to be held in Kuykendall 209.
Hey all! Our meetings start up again this week! We’ll be in Kuykendall 208 for Anime Thursdays and Kuykendall 209 for Game Day Fridays from 4:30-7:00 pm. Remember that if you want to pick what we’ll watch this semester, check out this nomination form, and come to club on Thursday to vote for showings!
This week we will be our last set of meetings for 2018, but we have some events which you might be interested in:

2. Tomorrow, we’ll have our end-of-the-year party! Relax and unwind before exams. We’ve got the second floor rooms in Kuykendall (right across from the iLab) with setup beginning at 4:30, going until 10pm– come by to our thing right after the MAG game night!
[ KUY 210 ] – Potluck and showings (we can finish up our Thursday showings, or watch a movie, etc)

3. We also have a Karaoke social on Saturday, which is kind of full— I’m not sure how much more we can fit, but feel free to let us know on our discord or at email@example.com if you’re interested in future Karaoke stuff!
We have our Halloween Party and Potluck this Friday from 4:30 to 10:00pm on the second floor of Kuykendall!
